WEREWOLF MAGICK PURIFICATION
WEREWOLF MAGICK SOLO AND PACK RITES FOR PURIFICATION AND BANISHING NEGATIVITY
Part of preparing to work seriously with werewolf magick is letting go of human restrictions that stifle you. To embrace the Animalself you need to break out of your programming and limited human-headspace. This exercise will help remove blockages and open the way for more feral, freeing werewolf energy.
As your Animalself arises and you become more wolfish, it is common to feel things more intensely and be triggered by human restrictions, prejudice, social norms and the like. Do this exercise when things start to really trigger or depress your Animalself or when you feel trapped—like a wolf—by oppressive environments.
Setup
This can be done at night or at twilight on a waxing or full moon. Do this rite in a wooded or other natural outdoor place where you will be alone, if possi- ble. It’s also beneficial for the rite to do it near an intersection of paths.
Items needed
Some red wine (in a container if you are doing this in the woods)
To supercharge this work, put a few drops of your blood or sexual fluid into
the wine before you do it.
Some food raw seeds, nuts, or berries for local animals Some pure water
Your ritual knife
The Rite
Go to the wild or natural place you’ve chosen with your items. Find something natural to use as an altar to put your things on or use an altar cloth, then center yourself. Start the Growl/Sway Exercise, but don’t end it until the end of this rite.
Let your inner wolf arise within you. It will likely be an upset and irritated wolf! Spin around counterclockwise and up-growl intensely, claws bared, ban- ishing anything that would dare interfere with this work!
Then, calmly center your now wer self, breathe deeply, and low grumble growl to focus. Scatter the food in a clockwise circle about you, seeing this food form a loving green circle as well as an offering to the spirits and animals of nature.
Grab your wine and then begin breathing deeply, sway, and unleash your upset inner wolf. In a growl, recite the following:
Greatest feral Woodland God Blessing every step I trod Mother Moon feed my trance Mother Earth, fill my dance Release all ills, on paws I sway Begone restrictions, swept away!
Spill out a little of the wine to each quarter of your area while saying: To the east:I exist, in the howl I sing
The breath of winter, the winds of spring
(up-howl)
To the south:
I exist in the heat of fire
By scarlet eyes and blood-boiling higher
(up-howl)
To the west:
I now embrace holy moon daughter Leaping streams and tide pull of water
(up-howl)
To the north:
I exist with paws and claws in earth Leaping as a Wolf, primal rebirth
(up-howl)
To the EAST:
I now embrace God of Trees and winds so the purification now begins!
(up-howl)
Drink some of the wine and pour some of it out as an offering to the Lord of the Forest, the Full Moon Goddess, and Gaia to help free you, up-growling three times. Then growl the following invocation:
By dance and howl and full moon power By prowl and stalk and fated hour
All anger, all hate, blood madness, ill fate I release to the sky, I release to the moon! Giving all to Gaia – By werewolf rune By claw and fang and dream-time will I’m washed in red rain, and purified and free!
O Faunus Lycan, I howl to thee!
From all restrictions may so may it be!!!
Now, take off your clothes or at least as many items as possible. Then, get wild! Perform a wild howl dance as you will! Let your werewolf self take over! Dance, spin, leap, growl, howl, sweat, and release all that is restricting, binding, angering, oppressing or inhibiting you! Offer your wild dance to the moon, the forest and the earth, but don’t use any words. Only use howls, growls, barks, flailing furry arms, paws, and flashing fangs. When it feels right, collapse onto your paws and knees and send all leftover energy down to the earth until you are empty of all that bothered and tormented you.
Then, in stillness, pull up from the earth calm, clear, cool centeredness. You are Gaia’s child, Her wolf, honor Her silently.
Using the ritual knife, cut off a piece of your hair, release it into the air to the moon and with joy up-howl away all that restricts you. Stand tensed and in full wildness, your fur, fangs, and paws all feeling the fresh breeze. You are now free to be a werewolf! Howl at will. Now, in fully wild wer form, throw your hands up and embrace all of the wildness about you as well as the full moon above you. Growl the following invocation:
By howl by blood by moon tides and wood
By spirits of wildness, both dark and good By the fury and power erupting within
I release all my chains, all restrictions and sin As open as nature, I lope as a beast
I honor all life, the greatest and least
Purified heart, the Wild God grows as a tree, From traps and cages, I now run free
From the center, run about in a counterclockwise spiral going farther and farther out and then keep running down a path. Howl, growl, yip: be free! When you feel tired, rest. Be calm and become one with the now-dark forest; let this reddish energy sink into the earth and feel your soul drift toward the full moon like mist. Feel the calm of the beast settle upon you.Now slowly return to the circle, rock and stomp, breathing and “watch” yourself losing the fur and claws and fangs as your Animalself withdraws,
becoming human again. Take a second to drink some water, you’ll need it! Then put any clothes you abandoned, gather your items, and make sure to leave no trace. As your prepare to leave, do a low down-howl to send your thanks to the wild gods and goddesses who have helped you. Pour out the last of the water and go.

Hekate Lunar Wolf Spirit Ritual
The purpose of this invocation is to invoke the Goddess Hekate, Lady of the Crossroads, of magick, the moon, and protection and purification. She is often represented by three wolves or as having three wolf heads. “Therefore we start seeing ideas manifest of wolves in company with Artemis and Hekate … with very specific epithets that refer to wolves …”
She is the gateway to the deep unconscious mind and mother of the Ani- malself, often called upon by werewolf cults on dark moons. This invocation can be done for lycanthropic dream work, to empower your wolf-spirit or Fetch or to invoke spiritual power. It can also be used for protection for either yourself, women and children, or anyone in need. This ritual is inspired by pas- sages from the Greek Magical Papyri 53
Setup
This ritual should be done near or on the new moon. It’s more powerful if done at a crosspaths in the woods, but it can be anywhere wild or natural, even in a backyard. It is best to practice this ritual at night but can be done in day- light as well. The main point is to avoid being disturbed. It would be best to do a bit of research on Hekate and get to know her before the ritual.
Items needed
An image of Hekate,
Olive oil
Some honeycomb (or honey) Red flowers
A few dried beans
A twig of dried rosemary
A small cup of deep red wine A small black candle
Your ritual knife.
A wooden or ceramic plate Wear your werewolf talisman
The Exercise
Bring your things to the crosspaths. Place all the items on the simple wooden or ceramic plate at the center of the intersecting paths. Pause and collect your- self. Feel the woods at night, silently honor the Lord of the Forest,Gaia, and the Moon Goddess. Up-howl softly to honor this place and the spirits here. Think deeply about your purpose, whatever it is and then begin the Praxis Shifting Ritual. Up-growl three times while powerfully throwing open your arms and paws while turning counterclockwise. Concentrate on banishing any interfer- ing spirits or energies. Then, turning clockwise, sprinkle wine around you in a circle and pour a few drops upon the platter/altar, proclaiming three times:
Io Evoe Hekate!
Hold up the plate toward the dark moon offering the items to Hekate while low up-howling three times. Pause and feel the darkness swirl about you until the image of Hekate forms in your mind’s eye. Bow to her and be aware of yourself as a werewolf honoring a wolf goddess.
Up-growl three times while lighting the candle and with all your will silently call to Hekate while focusing on your desire. Then, in a growly voice invoke her with these words:
Hekate, you of three faces,
Come purify me, for I love you!
With loving attention, hearken to this sacred call:
You are of night the youthful, dawn-lit bringer of vibrant lunar light
You who rides upon a bull with fiery eyes!
O Queen of shadows,
You drive your chariot alongside that of the Sun God
You dance in triple wolf-forms as three Goddesses
You dance with the stars.
You are Justice and the Wyrd of the Fates!

Now, light the dried rosemary and leave it on the plate smoldering, raise your paws up and growl:

Night one who guards the underworld as a three headed wolf, You are the Wildness of night, darkness, and chaos,

You who incite wanderings of the wild wolf madness, Come now to my ritual and purify me!”

Io Evoe Hekate!
Crouch over the plate, candle, and incense and down-growl nine times as you feel her power envelop and bless you. Put a finger to your lips and silence your voice and mind. See her form slowly appear in your mind’s eye as a black she-wolf, as a three wolf-headed woman or in another form she offers to you alone. Focus on your wolfish desire.
Prick your paw with the knife and let three drops of blood fall on to the plate. Hekate will then show you a secret symbol or image concerning your request or whisper into your ear. Your hackles may rise and you may feel a chill, this is a good sign. Sit in silence and be with her.
When the communion and magick feels like it is winding down, honor Hekate with three low up-howls. Taste then offer all the items on the plate to Hekate. Drink and pour out the last of the wine to her. Now, blow out the candle and take up the plate, candle, and the knife. Make sure nothing is still lit. Then leave all the offerings on the ground at the crossroads for the wild kin.
Stand, paws raised and up-howl one last time in thanks to all. Then turn counterclockwise clapping and up-growling to the three directions used earlier and see all excess energy fly away.

Solar Werewolf Purification and Protection Spell
When doing each of the four invocations, both of your paws should be raised up to the direction indicated as you visualize or are lit by the the sun during the invocations to visualize the golden solar wolf. As you finish each invocations, cross your arms over your chest and absorb the power.
When this ritual is being done for purification a special item may be held. The energy from this ritual may also be directed to a specific body part in need of healing. If it is being done for future protection, a small golden candle inscribed with an appropriate glyph can be used.

Lunar Eclipse Pack Purification Rite
Lunar eclipses are powerful for many reasons, but in the world of werewolf magick, they mark a time of release, letting go, banishing and purification. These eclipses are gifts given by the Silver Lady and Lord of the Forest so that we may bathe in the red lunar power and so dissolve all restrictions to our will.
Needed:
A wild and secluded place where you can view the lunar eclipse.
A personal ‘shifting trigger’ item if you have crafted one (see shifting enhancement in Chapter 1)
A small container of pure spring water
Your magickal knife
Arrive under the full moon just before the eclipse begins.
Announce yourself and offer praise to the full moon by howling three times, paws raised.
Pour out a little of the water and call on the Moon Mothers with a long growly HAaaaaa!
Do the basic banishing rite in the appendix.
Do the Praxis Rite, slowly and intensely. Take a long time to enhance and extend your shifting with a ‘shifting trigger’ item if you have one, or other techniques you have already learned such as accessing your fire center. (See the shifting section in Werewolf Magick)
Bring forth your Animalself and shift, intensely invoke and visualize your astral wolf form, take as long as you need until you are fully feral. At this point the moon will begin to dim a bit, then raise your paws to the moon and growl:
Lupus Et obscuratus Magna
Remove humanum problems
Luna, lupus ad gloriam!
*Great Wolf eclipse!
Remove my human problems!
Honor to the wolf moon!
Reach up to the moon and feel Her rays of light and power fill you completely until you are completely integrated, wer and goddess.
As the eclipse proceeds, deepen your trance state and feel the shifting moon mirrored in your shifting body and consciousness becomes clearer, darker, larger. Let go and embrace the transforming alchemy unlike any you have felt before.
Then growl:
O gloriosa eclipsis lunae lupus;
Et do facultatem, ut benedicat mihi
Luna magno lupum vorat
Et angustiis meis comedi !
*Oh glorious Wolf eclipse Moon!
Bless and empower me!
As the great wolf devours the Moon
So my restrictions are devoured and I am purified !
As the eclipse comes to completion, complete your full assumption of this very unusual werewolf form and raise your paws into the air at the reddish orb above you and chant:
Lupus Fauni dei, sic fiat !
*Trans: By the Wolf God Faunus, so be it!
Let go of your human consciousness completely and simply sink into the mystical experience of the lunar and thus personal transformation that is happening.
Let go of any insecurities, negativity, neuroses, fears and everything you want to banish from your life! You are in deep werewolf form, you can do all of this while your human ego sleeps! Do the deep work, standing or sitting. Drink the water and feel the power of the Moon cleanse, and heal you.
When the moon leaves emerges from the red shadow, rumble growl for a time and feel the transformation you have invoked, become focused and manifest, imaging you are losing a layer of skin like a serpent, all restrictions and negative aspects that you no longer need. When you feel the release, dig a hole at your feet and take up the knife.
Cut a lock of hair off and drop it in the hole, deep growl By MAaaaaa.
Prick your paw and drip a drop of blood into the hole, By deep growl HAaaaa.
Finish the water and drip a few drops into the hole, deep growl By AHhhhh!.
Fill in the hole and tense your body and growl loudly RAaaaaa!
By the Great Wolf Spirit, Fiat!
Then dance! See all they you have let go of fly away with the grace of the werwolf gods and the power of the red Moon! Dance until the moon is again full and shining, then spin and, when ready, spiral out counter clockwise and leave that place, do not look back!

Pack Protection, Purification and Banishing Rite
Like absurdly feared wolves, we are defensive and not aggressive. Yet we will protect ourselves and our brother and sister pack members to the end, right? This simple rite is for this very thing; protecting the whole pack or a pack member who is being assaulted on any level, mental, physical, magickal, emotional or psychic. Attack one pack member, you get a whole pack on your ass. One for all, all for one.
This rite is best done at the dark of the moon but can be done anytime as needed.
It can also be part of an esbat if it is a general protection rite for the whole pack for specific issues or for general pack protection. Better safe than sorry.
All begin to rumble and all send energy around the circle filled with love and protection and unity. Then all call on the Werewolf Spirit with a furious RA RA RA that gets louder and louder and ends with a howl.
Then a small altar is set up in the center of the circle, even just a red cloth is fine. All items are placed there including the bowl in the center filled with the gathered sacred water where the oak and thistle leaves are placed. The red candle is lit as is the incense and some red ‘pepper wine’ is poured into the cup. All take part in creating the altar while rumble-growling, building up a wolfish intensity.
Then, all stand in a circle facing inward.
We Pick the Stang in the other and begins rhythmic up growling as all join in, all swaying back and forth with each up growl. The alpha strikes the drum with each growl and slowly walks clockwise around the inside of the circle and all looks into the fire as the red circle is cast.
The rhythmic down growling becomes louder and more intense as everyone focuses on purifying self- After the circle is cast, all howl together.
Alpha places stang standing upright behind the altar with the stave laid before the altar.
All then do the simple Up-Growl Banishing
All then do the Praxis Rite invokes his or her most pissed off Animalself which projects fierce energy and scares away all negative energies.
When done the alpha raises his dagger and all do likewise and all turn about facing outward, point them outward and lunge and howl as one, projecting fierce protective power. All rais their knives straight up and loudly growl RA! Calling on the power of the Werewolf God and then all plunge their knives into the earth at their feet, calling on Gaia to affirm their protective work with a loud MA!.
All turn and face the center as the alpha picks up the bowl of smoking ‘incense’ and holds it as each wer censes him or herself and loudly down-growls visualizing cleansing.
The alpha picks up the water bowl and the pack reaches forward with a paw and all together support the water bowl, grow-rumbling in unison and then, in unison, loudly up-growl RA RA RA.. The RA-rumbling continues and energy builds as the Wolf deities fill the circle until the alpha raises the bowl and all go silent.
Alpha growls the following with all repeating-

EARTH AND FLOOD
AVERT ATTACKS
DARK EVIL FLEE
PROTECT OUR BACK

All howl with full intensity and release absorbing the purification and visualize the runic sign of Algiz for purification upon their heart filling them with purifying light.
All gently up-howl and then rumble and sway calming down, letting go of the spell and letting the power fade and the light of peace fill each wer’s inner wolf for a time. The alpha takes up the stave and taps the drum three times, ALL growl FIAT! 3x
All raise daggers and touch their dagger points together and growl loudly:
PACK IS ONE
PACK IS FREE
HARM ONE HARM ALL
ALL ENEMIES FLEE
BY FANGS AND CLAWS
PURIFY ME
SO MOTE IT BE!
SO MOTE IT BE!
All howl and raise their knives. Still holding daggers, all then turn about and do the basic Up-Growl banishing, thrusting forward daggers and claws with each of the nine growls.
Then all sheath their daggers, place paws on the earth and down-growl MA MA MA seeing all excess energies, and there are a bunch, sink into the earth.
All face each other and shake off the shifting and do the last part of the Praxis Rite to bring themselves back to human-ish.
All then get dressed if they need to and pick up the site as usual, packing all things, leaving it as it was, in silence. Finally, when all are ready to go, all come together in a big, long loving healing rumble hug and then howl! If this was done for one pack member, then that wer is in the center. Then all leave together.
Final Note: Though the power of the pack together makes this a most potent rite, any Wer can do this rite alone as they wish by adapting it for solo work. It is also possible for this to be done on the astral by coordinating times if the pack is separated physically.
