On July 4th I was interviewed by the Subgenius, Chaos Magick, wild and crazed DJ SteveZ on Ohio Radio show called Nameless Convention. Shapeshifting is one of the most ANCIENT ubiquitous creative spiritual ritual practices dating from PREHISTORIC times with roots in Animism – it survives today in a wide variety of SHAMANIC Pagan, Craft and occult groups. It is a powerful magickal creative liminal process that manifests in fantastic visions and art. Often apex predators like wolves are the most common animal for such work
QUICK HISTORY OF WEREWOLF SHAPESHIFTING
PREHISTORIC/SHAMANIC CULTS SHOWN IN CAVE PAINTING THAT ARE 40, 000 YRS AGO SHOW HALF-MAN HALF ANIMAL BEINGS IN WHAT WE CALL ‘SHAMANISTIC POSSESSION’ – THIS SHIFTING OPENS THE WAY BETWEEN HUMAN AND ANIMAL, OR the CONSCIOUS AND UNCONSCIOUS MIND- giving access to THE SPIRIT WORLD
EARLY PRE-INDO-EUROPEAN GROUPS OF NOMADIC WARRIOR SORCERERS FOLLOWED THESE PRACTICES

IN ANCIENT ROME, FOUNDED BY THE WOLF GODDESS LUPA WHO RAISES ROMULUS AND REMUS, WE HAVE LUPERCALIA- THE WILD HEDONISTIC SHAPESHIFTING/EROTIC/INTOXICATED WEREWOLF FESTIVAL RUN BY LUPERKAI OR WEREWOLVES- THERE WAS SHAPESHIFTING WILDNESS, DRUNKENESS, ORGIES AND THE PRIESTS WHIPPED WILLING PEOPLE WITH GOATSKING THONGS TO GIVE THEM FERTILITY. IRONICALLY VALENTINES DAY IS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS FEST AS WELL.
IN NORSE CULTURE WEREWOLF CULTS OF SORCERER WARRIORS PRACTICED SHAPESHIFTING FOR TRANSFORMATION/SORCERY AND WAR SKILLS – BER- SERKER/ ULF-SERKER SHIFTED INTO WILD INTENSE WARRIORS- MANY VIKING KINGS HAVE ULF IN THEIR NAME INDICATING THEIR WERE-WOLF SKILLS- THE SAGAS ARE FILLED WITH SUCH SHAPESHIFTING ADVENTUROUS CREATIVITY, MAGICK, DISCOVERIES AND WAR PROWESS AND CLEVERNESS- ODIN WAS GOD OF SHAPESHIFTING AND OCCULT CREATIVITY
THE MANY CELTIC HEROES WERE CALLED WEREWOLVES AND WERE HONORED AS RIGHTOUS WARRIORS! AND NICE GUYS. THERE ARE RECORDS OF DRUIDS BEING CALLED WEREWOLVES AND THEIR SHAPESHIFTING SKILLS WERE WELL KNOWN. SCOTTISH WULVERS WERE THE FRIENDLIEST WEREWOLVES, HELPING LOST TRAVELERS.
THE OSSERY TRIBE OF IRELAND WERE FAMOUS WEREWOLVES, THE WHOLE TRIBE SHIFTED FOR WEEKS YEARLY AS THE EARLY CHURCH DOCUMENTED.
IN MEDIEVAL WITCH OR SURVIVING PAGAN CULTS – A THIRD OF WITCHES TRIED BY THE CHURCH WERE ALSO ACCUSED OF WEREWOLFERY
IN THESE WITCH CULTS AND MANY OF THE SHAPESHIFTER CULTS MENTIONED INITIATES WORE WOLF SKINS OR WOLF SKIN BELTS, RUBBED PSYCHOACTIVE SALVES ON THEMSELVES, SHAPE-SHIFTED AND RAN AS PHANTOM WOLVES IN THIS WORLD AND IN THE SPIRIT WORLD WHILE THEIR BODIES WERE COMATOSE UNTIL THEY RETURNED WITH FANTASTIC VISIONS AND RITES. THIS IS THE SAME PROCESS AS SHAMANIC SHIFTING TODAY AND IN THE PAST.
CONCLUSION:
SHAPESHIFTING CULTS WERE USED BY MOST ANCIENT PEOPLES AND MOST ALL USED PSYCHOACTIVE SUBSTANCES, SEXUAL RITES, PRIMAL RITUALS, WOLF SKINS‘TRIGGERS’, AND OTHER WAYS OF ENTERING DEEP TRANSFORMATIVE TRANCE STATES ALONG WITH DRUMMING, SWAYING, ‘SHAKING, & INTENSE PHYSICAL WORK- THUS UNLEASHING THE ANIMALSELF, BY SUBSUMING THE UPPER CORTEX, TO GET DIRECT ACCESS TO THE DEEP UNCONSCIOUS MIND RESULTING IN EXPLOSIONS OF CREATIVITY AND MAGICKAL GNOSIS.
SHAMANS I HAVE MET LIKE THE ULCHI FROM SIBERIA, MAYANS IN THE JUNGLE OF GUATEMALA, AND THE HUICHOL IN OAXACA – CONTINUE TO DO SHAMANIC SHAPESHIFTING RESULTING IN ASTOUNDING VISIONS, PHYSICAL SHIFTS, PREDICTIONS, WILD ART, DANCE, SONGS AND SO ON THAT CONNECT THE SPIRITUAL AND MUNDANE WORLD- SO CAN WE.
