Feral Spellcraft
CLASS 2
These are the transformational steps of feral magick:
-connect and reintegrate with nature
All feral magick is empowered by Gaia, mother earth, the most powerful deity we live, she who has given us all things including food, shelter and natural wisdom.
There are many gods, goddesses and forces we can work with, but nothing is closer to our soul, our dna, or our very existence than the earth and all that lives on, above and within it. This is why feral magick is so effective
Most civilized peoples have cut themselves off from the earth mother. It has mostly been amongst tribal people that this primal and all-powerful magick and ethos is still alive. We look towards those who remember pure magick-tribal peoples who live in nature, working amongst the animal and plant spirits. In dozens of cultures i have visited, pancha mama, gaia, mother earth and all the animal and plant spirits are always honored as the core of magick and life. As an ulchi siberian shaman said to me in an interview, ‘every footstep upon the earth must be a prayer of gratitude to her.’ and the animal spirits help and guide
The feral magick practitioner should start with this thought and ever keep it in mind..
Practice:
You need to be embodied in nature somehow, you need a sacred place in the embrace of nature. Work to immerse yourself in your ecosystem to dig deep and work with the natural feral magick. Before all else, find a sacred green-filled, unpolluted, natural place where you and mother earth and the spirit animals can connect.
– begin by honoring the genus loci- that is, the conscious embodied ‘place spirit’ in the natural area you are working within.
Connect with that spirit first, enter a deep meditative state and open to the nature about you..
Then move your feral consciousness outward, upwards and below
then feel-learn this area, this natural place you have chosen to work within, your vital center. Find out what animals live there. Birds? Mammals? Fish, amphibians? Reptiles?
What animals come through this area but don’t live there. Coyotes? Racoons? Herons?
Get to know your genus loci, where you will interconnect with the spirits and work your feral magick. This is the first step.
Connect and reintegrate with your animalspiritself
Begin this way: take a moment and look in a mirror and say out loud: i am an animal! Animals are my kin- they give me power and help!
This is absolute truth, not an opinion- accepting this truth is the first step of feral magick. We have been programmed to believe that we are not animals, that god gave us humans, and only us, ‘dominion over the earth.’ genetics have proven that we are animals ourselves and have genetic relationships to all animals. We are both hominids and members of the same zoological family, hominidae. We are genetically 98% the same as chimpanzees. We contain all the dna of all the animals, from the first cells. We are animals and as animals we each have an animalspiritself that lives as a deep, primal part of us and which we have repressed, unleashing this primal self, the animal part that is within us, is the key to unlocking our ability to communicate and do spellcraft work with and through other spirit animals as truly free feral kin.
the false belief that we are not animals is the greatest divide between us and the natural world. We cannot work spells with the forces of nature if we don’t accept that we too are animals, embrace our deep animalspiritself, and accept our place as part of the natural world
Our animalness is what connects us to the spirits, especially the spirit animals. It helps us connect with these the spirits to so they accept and can help us. This dance between our awakened animistic consciousness and the spirit animals is what manifests success in free-flowing feral magick. With this we can truly embrace the natural world and all the spirits that can help us live more conscious lives and maybe even save our planet.
Preparing for the animal spirit
I have spent time with shamans in oaxaca and guatemala and with siberian shamans from the ulchi tribe, the nani doro.
I have discussed and seen their powerful magicks!
they learn to do soul retrieval rites;
help find elk to feed the tribe
Heal themselves and others and discover things
They know what to do in terms of bad weather, food, protection through the spirits help
And they help others as they journey through the spirit world.
Such sensitive magick makers easily interrelate with spirit animals because they grew up with an animistic worldview and are taught to expect to encounter many kinds of spirits become aware of the spirits that are always around us. You see what you believe is real and cannot see what you don’t believe in.
Evoking your true animaspiritself and cultivating the expectancy of seeing nature spirits will allow you to perceive, honor and work directly with such spirits.
Connect and reintegrate with the right spirit animal
Once you have evoked and integrated your animalspiritself, a technique that requires much practice, you will become proficient at entering a trance state and so become open to the sublime world of nature and able to interact with the spirits. Then you will be ready to accept and call to and welcome the important spirit animal (or spirit animals) that is attracted to or even now waiting for you to see it.
At this point, like much else in animism, intuition and perceptions will inform your feral magick and much will be up to you and the spirit that you are working with. Your animalspiritself and the spirit animal you are drawn to will form a relationship, a dance as it were, and begin to create intuitive ways to silently communicate and do magick together, often in ways you cannot predict.
Such feral magick is intuitive, instinctual, unconscious and unique to
The animals spirits helps opens the powers of instinct, intuition and insight, all must arise from the deep unconscious mind, the animal mind, through your animal spiritself.
Every situation and every person and every spirit and every spirit-centered relationship is different.
This is why feral magick is often more akin to art and all kinds of creative expression rather than intellectual learning, analysis and or memorization!
Much of my personal feral magick work has been guided by the wolf the spirit animals that you need come to you, you don’t call them to you however, you have to be open, prepared and ready to receive them.
working with spirits in this way is free flowing, without rules and is guided by your true will and the true will of that spirit
once this relationship is formed, your partnership will be open, unfettered and intuitively guided and spellcraft will become easy and powerful.
A spirit animal can function in a relationship in many ways. It can be a guardian or a protector for you, your home or even help protect others.
A spirit animal can be asked to heal you or another, motivate you, warn you, guide you (in this world or another or in dream)
Spirit animals can help you see and work with the flow of energy in the ecosystem. We call this vast interconnected energetic weaving the wyrd.
Animal spirits can guide, help and aid you in all kinds of magickal work in many ways with the intuitive use of feral magick.
Shamans and other primal magick makers are often aided by their spirit animals in this way for all kinds of feral spell work and much more.
The spirit animal that mentors you will teach and guide you in ways that i cannot begin to describe.
The same can be said about the animistic spirits of trees, mountains, rivers, mountains and so on. However, such physical spirits, like mountain spirits, tend to not ‘talk’ so much but fill you with direct immediate wisdom or knowledge on deep levels, it is spirit animals that offer ongoing communication animal to animal, that is, animal spiritself to spirit animal. This is because we are the same, we are both animals and we love to chat!
It is important to note that your ‘favorite animal’ may not be the spirit animal that comes to you, the one that you end up working with. For example, i love gorillas and collect gorilla images for fun and send contributions to the wwf to protect endangered gorilla populations. However, i have never been approached by a gorilla spirit. Liking an animal is very different from having a spirit animal spirit come to you. The spirit animal that just shows up once you are open to this indicates that this spirit animal is drawn to work with you and help you. This attraction, if you accept it, opens the way for then using this partnership to do feral magick, that is, the rites and rituals in this book as well as the many spells, rites and rituals you will intuitively create with that spirit animal.
Review: starting the process: these are the basic steps needed to begin this feral shift in consciousness:
-go into wild nature and renew your direct bond with mother earth as you like. Take time to meditate, breathe and become aware of the powers and spirits.
-fully accept that in every way you are an animal without doubt. Work hard at deprogramming yourself.
– practice calling up your animalspiritself (see the rite for doing so in this book) until the trance state becomes deep and powerful. This must be accomplished before you can work effectively with the spirit animal.
– when ready, open yourself to the spirit animals and accept the appropriate animal spirit that seeks you out. If you dance well together, then, like any relationship, begin to communicate and use feral magick rites, rituals and practices to bond and work together.
– as a side result of this, you will find yourself being pulled into the animist world by your spirit animal and will experience and begin to see the nature spirits that are all about you. You may begin to be called to honor and communicate with spirits embodied in trees, creeks, and stones as well as other spirit animals or even spirit ghosts! The animist world is filled with countless spirits and the more you explore the more you will respect all the spirits.
The earth mother and the spirits, unlike humans who are not part of that world, exist in the now, and they simply want us to stop destroying our environment and come back into the natural flow of an athintic magickal life, like all other living things. They call to us to wake up and become conscious and so return to the loving embrace of the great mother. This is the real purpose of feral magick.
All that being said, let the healing feral magick flow and the animal spirits dance with joy

Initial invocation of this animal spirit;
Go to a place in wilderness where wolves live or lived and invoke the wolf spirit
Go to sacred places where wolves were venerated and invoke the wolf spirit
Visit live wolves, take time to silently communicate with them, invoke the wolf spirit
In dream invoke the wolf spirit
Use a physical item connected with wolves: hair, bone, fang, claw or pawprint etc and invoke the wolf spirit
Calling the wolf spirit exercise
Purpose: to call to yourself the great wolf spirit, the collective power or egregore of all the wolves that have been and still are. Calling and being blessed by this power offers a ‘wolf empowerment’ that will aid you with werewolf magick. You will begin to relate to your animalself as a wolf, and this is crucial. Read about wolves and werewolf folklore. Do this intensely for several days to get yourself into the wolf ‘headspace.’
Set up:
Do this on a warm day near or on the full moon. Find a natural place, the wilder the better, but it may be a local wooded park. If you go into a dense park or woods, you do not need to go alone, others may come with you for safety, but should observe your ritual since it is for you alone. You will be looking for a place in nature where you can avoid other people for about an hour. If going into wilderness, plan your trip carefully. Go when the weather is mild. Go into wilderness while it is daylight. Hike as deep into real wilderness as you safely can. Doing this at night is more powerful, but it can be done in the daytime during a day-hike if you wish.
Needed:
Appropriate hiking equipment, including all necessities if you are going into wilderness.
A small piece of fresh raw meat, well wrapped*
Water and raw natural foods for you, such as fruit and nuts
A natural altar, like a stump or stone
Plenty of pure water
Your journal
A daypack (if going hiking)
The exercise:
Hike until you find a place where you can safely leave other humans, maybe ducking off the trail a bit. Find the right power spot for your work. Use your intuition. When you have found a place where you can meditate, set up a small natural stone or piece of wood as an altar, facing north if possible.
Now, sit and meditate on the beauty and power of mother nature.
Do deep breathing, down-gowl with every out breath and let the stresses flow from you into the earth. Let the growling fade. Now, feel the energies of nature around you. Let them fill you as you breathe deeply. Place your hands upon the ground and feel gaia’s power fill and connect you with all wild things.
Focus on wolves and the intensity of your desire to invoke the wolf spirit.
Remove your shoes and feel the earth. Reach to the sky and feel the wild energies fountain up from the earth through you into the heavens.
Open up your heart, mind and body to the joy of wildness and the wolf spirit.
Softly up-howl three times as you invoke the great wolf spirit to you!
Down howl once and lay out the small piece of raw meat and a cup of pure water for the the wolf spirit on your simple natural altar.
To clear the area, up-growl three times and turn about counterclockwise.
Now, do the simple rocking/growling exercise from the previous werewolf tools chapter.
As you continue, enter a light trance and feel and see your animalself rise within you, maybe in the form of your chosen wolf.
You will be able to sense and maybe even faintly see the energies about you.
Let the rocking-growling slow then stop and now stand, filled withyour animalself.
Raise your arms and silently, with your animalself mind, call on the lord of the forest, the mother moon and the great earth mother to help you call the wolf spirit, then pour out a little water onto the altar and softly up-howl and continue slow, soft up-howling as you call to the wolf spirit.
Close your eyes, keep howling. After a time it will now come to you.
You will know, there will be a clear sign.
When you feel it’s presence, open your eyes, offer the meat to this ancient spirit with a gesture and honor it with three low down-howls.
When done, commune with it silently, close your eyes and commune with the wolf spirit and silently ask for its blessing in your werewolf magick and in shaping your animalself as a wolf form. Let the wolf spirit and your animalself integrate in complete silence. Sit with it until it leaves you, then quietly up-howl a thanks.
Be still. Breathe. Eat some food and drink water. Feel the wildness and the power of the full moon fill you. Take out your journal and scribe your experiences, visions and whatever came to you. Maybe sketch what your animalself – wolf spirit looks like.
When ready to go, touch the earth with both hands, silently thank the lord of the forest, the moon goddess, the earth and the wolf spirit. Softly down-growl three times and let all the excess energy fade into the earth as your animalself withdraws.
Do the final rocking part of the growling/swaying exercise to return you to full normal human.
Pack everything, check the area to make sure nothing has been left, and leave the meat offering as it is or toss it into the woods
Have a wonderful hike back and go home and rest. Think on being a werewolf and what comes next on the werewolf path. That night, you will likely dream of the wolf spirit or maybe your own animalself wolf. Whenever you awaken write down your dreams.

Blessing ritual for talismans and tools
Setup
Find a quiet wooded or natural place where you won’t be disturbed. A cross- path would be ideal, but not necessary. A backyard, patio, or a room with plants would work as well. Make sure you are clean with relaxed clothing.
Genus loci spot
The tools or items to be blessed
a flat stone, stump or green cloth made of natural fabric to act as an altar. Dried rosemary
bay leaves
a shell or natural bowl to burn dried herbs in
a tuft of your hair
a small amount of natural salt
optional: a form of divination
The spell
Do this ritual at twilight on or near a full moon. Take your items to the woods or natural spot
Begin to call up your animalself and it will arise making you aware of your instinct, intuition, and so will provide insight as you proceed. Set up stone altar with your item to be blessed. Place the bay leaves in the bowl or shell to the right of the items and salt to the left.
Sit in silence and breathe deep, let the power of nature feel you, continue to evoke your animalself, see and feel it stir like your spirit animal waking up within you. Bring it to consciousness to fill you. Bare your teeth and quietly do an appropriate animal sound as it fills you.
Sprinkle a pinch of the salt upon the item being blessed and sprinkle some in a circle clockwise around you. Bare your teeth further and intensely do an appropriate animal sound three times firmly to scare away anything negative. Visualize all such unwanted energies fleeing
At this point, start to do the an appropriate animal sound/sway exercise. Stand, slouch, relax, barely open your eyes, and begin to sway back and forth by shift- ing your weight, knees bent, legs relaxed. Imagine yourself swaying like a tree in the wind, back and forth, back and forth, and with each move from left to right, quietly do an appropriate animal sound.
When it feels right, slow the rocking, let the growling fade to silence and then stop. Breathe deeply. Feel your animal-self, the earth under your feet, how grounded you are, and the natural and primal power flowing through you. You will use it now.
See the appropriate animal spirit that is attracted to you come- when you feel/see it sprinkle appropriate food for the spirit before the stone
If you see/feel and connect with the spirit and feel a positive energy or blessing from it then do an appropriate animal sound as it fills you with joy and acceptance. Make sure to write down any visions, or communications, this is a potent situation and the item’s spirit may honor you with help and ongoing support.
Place a snip fo your hair on the burning herb and gently, carefully cense the item to be blessed in the smoke with three passes, quietly low down-growling as you do. Channel your blessing and power flowing directly from your animalself into the item as the spirit reaches forth with power and blesses it.
During this, entwine your aura into and through the item by visualizing your energy as a strong brilliant light, white or another color depending on the animal spirit. Then, feel and see the awakening energy fill the item and glow.
When you have finished this process, rub your face or chest with your hand and then rub the scent and your skin oil into the item while doing the appropriate animal sounds..
Hold the item at your heart and lie upon the earth close your eyes, gently do a low up-growl, and become one with your animalself as you feel gaia energy flow up from the earth and embrace you and your new sacred item. Stay in this position awhile.
When it feels right, stare at the item you are blessing and close your eyes. If you see a positive image or get a positive feeling, all is well. If the insight is clear, follow it.
When your animal spirit or animalself lets you know it is time to go, place some of the ashes from the burned herb on your brow, heart, and sex chakras and rub some on the item being blessed to seal it. Then, with low up-growls, offer some ashes to the four quarters of your area to honor gaia.
Gather up your ritual items, center yourself, and breathe deep a few times. Slowly sway back and forth, letting go of your animalself and saying words of thanks and goodbye to the animal spirit with appropriate sounds as you have been doing. . Slowly touch the earth with both hands, exhale deeply three times, and as you do so see your animalself sink into your inner being and curl up in the cave of your deep mind. Clap three times and go forth with your spiritually awakened werewolf item.
From now on, you should treat this item as a sacred connection to your animal spirit.,
